the WolfGroup Consultants
Project, policy and strategy development
The WolfGroup has
undertaken the development of a wide-range of projects, policies
and strategies with its integrated teams of consultants. The range
of themes and deliverables speak to the breadth of expertise we can
rally.
Project Development
"UNRWA at 60"
campaign
The WolfGroup lead an ambitious initiative to develop events,
networks and interest around the commemoration of 60 years of
service that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency
(UNRWA) has
undertaken alongside Palestine refugees. The campaign development
included facilitating the strategy development and streamlining of
project types and outputs. We assembled a multi-disciplinary team
to directly develop feasible project proposals and produce printed,
digital and web-based products for further fund-raising and global
coordination.
Geneva Peacebuilding Platform
We
served as the project leader of the project International Geneva and the UN Peacebuilding
Commmission in close
partnership with QUNO and the HEI/CCDP.
Developed the project from a comprehensive analytical mapping of Geneva-based Peacebuilding
capacities, to the
organization of high-level conferences with UN Office at Geneva (UNOG) and founded the
Geneva Peacebuilding Platform, a joint initiative for
2008.
Security Management
in Hazardous Environments
Undertook the collaborative development of the course Security
Management in Hazardous Environments for the Folke Bernadotte Academy. This project included identification of learning
objectives, design of modules, selection of faculty and production
of a custom-made simulation
exercise.
Policy and Strategy Projects
World Food
Programme
We were part of a Field Study on the Protection of Civilians in the
Democratic Republic of Congo in 2006. Our work was in support of an
ongoing policy project exploring how the Programme could improve
beneficiary protection, through its staff, mandate and operations.
The outcome of the field research included the formulation of
country-level and strategic recommendations for the eventual WFP
policy formulation. In 2009, we undertook a review of all
WFP-commissioned research projects to develop a discussion paper
for a High Level Humanitarian Conference.
Voluntary
Organisations in Cooperation in Emergencies (VOICE)
The
SPHERE
Project
For these clients we
undertook complementary research and strategy development around
the issue of how civilian and military actors can- and cannot-
interact in situations of armed conflict and natural disasters.
These projects contributed to the evolving thinking of how
multi-agency operations should unfold, and in identifying
challenges on the strategic horizon. Products included
discussion papers and training packages.
International
Council of Volunteer Agencies (ICVA)
In partnership with Practical-Intelligence.ch, developed a fresh initiative around the Code of
Conduct for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
and NGOs entitled, ’Strengthening the relevance of humanitarian
principles in humanitarian action’. Through intensive dialogue with stakeholders,
developed a Discussion Paper reflecting the challenges facing the
Code, and the piloting of Learning Events to enable organizations
to more effectively employ them.
